Fair Shares: What a Fraction Really Means
- Fold a strip in half. Label each part 1/2.
- Fold another into fourths. Label each part 1/4.
- Shade 3 of the fourths and write 3/4 together.
The whole strip is cut into 4 equal parts, so each part is one fourth. Three of them is three fourths.
