Questions parents ask

Who earns the points?

Each student earns their own. Points come from finishing steps in the lesson library: the Quick Check, the lesson, the practice set and the Show What You Know test.

How fast does a student reach a prize?

A student who finishes one topic every school day earns about 27 points a week, streak bonus included. That reaches the first prize in about 2 weeks, a free workbook in under 2 months and a free grade bundle in about 5 months. Weekends count too.

Is there a daily limit?

Yes: 5 points a day, which is one whole topic. From April 15 to May 15 every step is worth double and the limit is 10.

When can a prize be claimed?

As soon as the prize bar reaches it. A student can claim it or keep saving for a bigger one, with one claim a month per student. Claims open when subscriptions open.

Does claiming a prize undo progress?

No. A claim uses prize points, but the climb counts every point ever earned and never goes down. Points past 600 carry over.

What if I have more than one student?

Each student has their own points. Turn on Let my students compete and a weekly race compares each student with their own weekly goal, so a younger student can win against an older one.

What are parent points?

Parent points come with your plan: 250 a year on the annual plan, 25 and then 20 a month on the monthly plan, and 200 for each family you refer. You give them to your students any way you like.

How do certificates work?

When a student finishes every topic in a subject for one grade, a certificate with the topic list and the date is emailed and ready to print.
