About us

A complete K–5 curriculum, built by a parent who got tired of the price of one

UpOnly Learning publishes a full elementary curriculum — nine subjects, kindergarten through fifth grade — in English, Spanish and Portuguese. One household price covers up to ten students. Families across the United States use it as a complete homeschool program, as after-school support, and as summer work.

What we make

Every topic we publish has four parts, in this order: a Quick Check that shows what a student already knows, a ready-to-teach lesson that tells you what to say, guided practice you work through together, and a Show What You Know at the end. Scores are saved as you go, and a progress report prints for your records.

Each topic is matched to a real academic standard — the US Common Core and the Singapore MOE syllabus — and written for the grade it sits in. There are 998 topics, 1,951 lessons and over 47,000 practice questions, each with the answer and the reason behind it.

The nine subjects are mathematics, reading, English and writing, science, history and social studies, world languages, life skills, entrepreneurship and business thinking, and psychology for kids. The last three are there on purpose, and they are the ones schools skip.

Alongside the app we publish printable workbooks — a full-colour book for every subject and grade, 171 of them — and a growing line of Prepare for next grade books for the summer between years. Those are sold separately and are yours to keep.

Why it exists

From Dr. Evan J. Hasson, founder

I've run a specific chiropractic practice for over twelve years, and I'm a dad of three. My work is about alignment: get the structure right, and everything else works better.

At home, nothing was aligned. I was spending thousands a month on tutors, extracurriculars, programs, this and that. And when I asked about enrolling a second or third child, I got the same answer everywhere: that'll be double, that'll be triple. More children, more money. As if a family were just a bigger invoice.

So I looked at schools. The charter school had a waiting list. The good public school had a waiting list. The private schools had a different kind of list — the one where it helps to know someone, or to give generously first. Doors everywhere, and somebody standing in front of each one.

And underneath all of it, the same quiet threat: if you don't pay for this, your child will fall behind. That's how it gets sold. Not with evidence. With fear. Parents who love their children are told they're one unpurchased program away from failing them.

So I built the thing I wanted. Nine subjects, kindergarten through grade 5, every topic in the order a student should actually meet it. A lesson that tells you what to say. Questions with the answers and the reason behind each one. In English, Spanish and Portuguese, because this problem is not only an American one.

One price for your whole household, up to ten students, because a child is not a billing event. A fraction of what I was paying — not because it is worth less, but because the gatekeeping was never about worth.

I built this for my own children. I'm giving it to yours.

Who uses it

Homeschooling families use it as the core program — nine subjects, a clear teaching order, built-in assessment and records you can print for your state.

Families whose students are in school use it three ways: previewing a topic before the class reaches it, going back over something that did not land, or adding a subject the school does not teach.

Families catching up or getting ahead use the Quick Checks to find the actual gap rather than guessing, then work only the topics that come back weak.

Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking families get the same curriculum in their own language. These are not machine translations — each one is written for the student who will read it, and the Spanish is neutral Latin American rather than tied to one country.

What we are not

We are a publisher, not a school. We do not give grades, credits, transcripts or diplomas, and we are not accredited. Using our lessons does not by itself satisfy what your state requires of you — enrollment, testing, record-keeping and required subjects remain yours, and the rules differ by state and change.

We do not publish anything above grade 5 yet. Grades 6–8, high school and test prep are written and waiting, and we do not give dates, because we would rather say nothing than promise a month and miss it.

We do not run free trials that turn into charges, we do not ask for a card to see the free material, and we do not publish review counts or testimonials we did not earn.

Try it before you decide

One complete topic in every subject and every grade is free, with no card and no time limit — the lesson, the practice and the answer key. Every workbook has a free sample. There are also 87 pages of free printable practice questions and a set of free scope-and-sequence documents for your records.

Start with the curriculum to see every topic we teach, or the free workbooks to read one before you spend anything.
