Find your student's level in Spanish, Portuguese or English

A short check with listening, in the language your student already speaks. It shows the level and the #1 thing to work on, free. The Language pass adds the full level map and a step-by-step path through our language course.

First, a few quick questions

For a student of any age: kid, teen or adult. Then about 15 short questions, with listening, in the language the student already speaks.

1. Which language is being learned?
2. Who is taking the language check?
3. How old are you?
5. How much have you learned before?
6. Where do you use the language?

We never ask for a name, an address or a school. Students under 18 do this with a parent or guardian nearby, and a parent enters their email at the end to see the results.

Questions from parents

Is the language check free?
Yes. The check, the level and the #1 thing to work on are free. A parent enters their email to see the results, or sign in and they show right away. The full level map, the step-by-step path and the course lessons open with the Language pass: $99 per student for Monthly members, $49 for Yearly members, free for 1 student with Lifetime for as long as the Lifetime membership lasts (then $49 per student), or $199 per student. A bought pass is yours for 12 months, even if the membership ends. All sales are final.
What does the Language pass include?
For one student, for 12 months: the full level map (words, listening, everyday phrases, grammar and reading), a step-by-step path through the matching language course, every lesson of our four language courses on screen, and re-checks to see the student move up. You can take the free check first, or buy the pass directly in the store or on the Passes page. One-time payment, and all sales are final.
Which languages can we check?
Spanish or Portuguese for students who speak English, and English for students who speak Spanish or Portuguese. Each check uses questions from the matching course: Learn Spanish, Learn Portuguese, English for Spanish Speakers or English for Portuguese Speakers.
How does the listening part work?
The device reads a word aloud with its own voice, and the student picks what it means. If the device has no voice for that language, the word is shown so a grown-up can read it aloud.
What information do you collect?
For a visitor, a parent's email to send the results, the language picked and a short summary of the result, and only if you tick it, tips and offers. Never the student's name, address or school. Answers are saved in this browser. Signed in, the results go to the account's email and are saved for the student you choose.
