📋 See what's inside: Times Tables · Level 1 (201 cards)
Every fact appears three ways: forward (3 × 4), turned around (4 × 3) and with a missing number (3 × ? = 12).
The 0, 1, 2, 5 and 10 tables 5
- 0 × 0 to 0 × 12
- 1 × 0 to 1 × 12
- 2 × 0 to 2 × 12
- 5 × 0 to 5 × 12
- 10 × 0 to 10 × 12
Math decks show the fact on the front and the answer on the back, with a quick tip, all read aloud. Every fact appears forward, turned around and with a missing number.
Free sample: 10 of the 201 cards in this deck.
⭐ Rewards: master a round of 20 cards (80% or more “I knew it” on the first try) to earn 1 point, once a day.
🤝 Be honest: tap “I knew it” only if you had the answer before you flipped. If not, tap “Practice again”. We keep track of both, so the cards you need come back.
Tap the card to flip it. Tap the ear to listen.
One file that opens in any web browser with no internet and no sign-in, with the audio and practice again. Yours to keep. On iPhone and iPad, use the cards here on the site instead.
Printable cards: 4 per page, cut and fold so the answer is on the back. Paper cards have no audio.
How the cards work
Tap to flip
The problem or word is on the front. Tap the card, or press the space bar, to see the answer on the back.
Tap the ear to listen
A friendly voice reads the question, then the answer and a tip for remembering it. It uses the voice built into your device, so it sounds a little different on a phone, tablet or computer.
Practice again
Missed a card? Tap Practice again and it comes back a few cards later, not right away, which helps it stick. Ask your student to be honest: tap “I knew it” only when they had the answer before flipping. We track what they knew and what needs practice.
Picks up where you left off
The cards your student knew are remembered on this device, so the next round starts with the ones still being learned.

Questions
Do I need an account to try them?
No. The 10 sample cards in every deck are free for everyone, with no sign-in.
Which devices do they work on?
Any phone, tablet, Chromebook or computer with a modern web browser. On a phone, you can add the page to your home screen to open it like an app.
Is the voice a real person?
No. The cards use the voice built into your device, set to sound friendly and upbeat. If your device has no Spanish or Portuguese voice installed, it reads with the closest voice it has.
How many cards are in a deck?
Math decks have 60 to 225 cards: each fact appears forward, turned around and with a missing number. Vocabulary decks have 29–345 words each, one deck per subject and grade.
How do flashcards earn reward points?
Members earn 1 point a day for a mastered round: 20 cards with at least 80% marked “I knew it” on the first try. A round under 80% earns no point, so being honest is what makes the point count.
Which vocabulary decks are there?
Reading, Writing, Science, Social Studies, Life Skills, Entrepreneurship and Psychology words for grades 1 to 8, in English, Spanish and Portuguese. The words and meanings come from our own lessons, so the cards match what your student is learning.
Why flashcards work: the research
Each part of these cards comes from published research on how students remember. The numbers point to the reference list below.
Trying to remember comes first
The answer is hidden until your student has tried. Recalling something from memory strengthens it more than reading it again: students who practiced recalling remembered far more a week later than students who spent the same time restudying.[1]
Two of the most useful ways to study
A review of ten common study methods rated practice testing and spreading practice over time as the two most useful, for students of many ages.[2]
One big deck beats small piles
In a flashcard study, going through one stack of 20 cards, so each card came back after a gap, beat studying four small piles of 5 for about 90% of learners. That is why our decks mix many facts, and why a missed card comes back a few cards later instead of right away.[3]
A few minutes on several days
Practice spread over several days is remembered longer than the same amount in one sitting. Ten or twenty cards a day works better than a hundred once a week.[4][2]
The right answer, right away
Flipping shows the correct answer at once, with a short tip. Feedback helps most when it tells the student what is right and how to get there.[5]
Why math facts are worth memorizing
The National Mathematics Advisory Panel recommended that students recall basic facts, including multiplication and division, quickly and effortlessly, so their attention is free for harder problems.[6]
Pictures with words (vocabulary decks)
Students learn more from words and pictures together than from words alone. Our vocabulary decks put a picture next to each word and read it aloud.[7]
What we don't claim
Flashcards are for practice, not for teaching a new idea. Teach the concept first (every UpOnly Learning math lesson does, with pictures and worked examples), then use the cards to make the facts quick and automatic. Every student learns at their own pace.
