The Math You Build
Every answer builds your world Grades K–8
Free math games for kids, kindergarten to 8th grade
Solve math problems from your grade to build a house, a rocket and a robot.
Students are the contractor on their own job site. Every stage of a build is one math topic from their grade: solve the problems, check the stage off the clipboard and watch the next piece go up. Builds from a dream house to a rocket and a giant robot.

Make your hero and start building
Your hero
On the job site your hero is the contractor: yellow hard hat, orange safety vest and a clipboard.
Why it works: worked examples, feedback with a reason and moving on only after mastery are among the best-studied ways to learn math. See the research
How the builds work
You're the contractor
Each student plays as their own hero in a yellow hard hat and an orange safety vest, holding the job's clipboard. The clipboard lists the build's 11 stages and checks each one off.
Builds with 11 stages each
Dream House, Neighborhood, Skyscraper City, Sports Car, Treehouse, Castle, Pirate Ship, Rocket and Space Station, Theme Park, Zoo and Robot. Every stage adds a piece you can see, from the foundation to the finishing touch.
Dream House is free
The whole Dream House, all 11 stages, is free with every feature. Members get every build.
Four steps in every stage
1. Quick Check
Three quick questions. Students who already know the topic can go straight to Show What You Know.
2. Learn
A short explanation and worked examples, with a link to the full lesson in the lesson library.
3. Practice Together
Guided problems with hints after a wrong answer, and the reason behind every answer.
4. Show What You Know
Ten problems without hints. 8 right builds the stage; 9 earns 2 stars and 10 earns 3.
Math from the student's grade
The topics of their grade, in order
Stages follow the same US Common Core math topics as our lesson library, kindergarten to grade 8, in the same order. The next stage of any build is the next topic the student has not mastered yet; when every topic is mastered, stages become review.
A Quick Check suggests a grade
Not sure where to start? A short placement check suggests a grade. It never skips stages: every build still starts at stage 1.
Big number pad, phone friendly
Answers go in with a big number pad (with keys for fractions, decimals and negative numbers when needed) or big multiple-choice buttons. Questions can be read aloud.
Stars, streaks and reward points
Stars
Up to 3 stars per stage, from accuracy alone. Speed never counts.
Reward points for members
Members earn reward points for each stage built, a bonus for finishing a build and another for 3 stars on every stage. Rushing earns nothing.
Progress that follows the student
With a signed-in account, each student's builds and mastered topics are saved to the account. Without one, they stay on this device.
