  • first aid kit — A box or bag with bandages, gauze and other supplies for small injuries
  • pressure — Pressing down firmly and steadily with a clean cloth to help stop bleeding
  • bruise — A purple or blue mark under the skin from a bump
  • minor — Small and not serious
  • emergency — A serious problem where someone needs help right away; get an adult and call the emergency number

What you need at home: A first aid kit or a few adhesive bandages, gauze pads and a clean cloth; A bag of frozen peas or an ice pack and a thin towel; A sink with cool running water; A stuffed animal or doll to be the pretend patient.
