The Experiments You Run
Be the scientist, one test at a time Grades K–8
Predict it. Test it. See it.
Free science games for kids, kindergarten to 8th grade
Run fun experiments, one science topic from your grade at a time.
Students are the scientist in their own lab. Every experiment is one science topic from their grade: ask the question, make a prediction, run the test, read the results and pick the best explanation. Labs from the kitchen to a space observatory.

Make your hero and start experimenting
Your hero
In the lab your hero is the scientist: white lab coat, safety goggles and a lab notebook.
Why it works: investigating with step-by-step guidance helps students learn science better than exploring alone. See the research
How the labs work
You're the scientist
Each student plays as their own hero in a white lab coat and safety goggles, holding the lab notebook. The notebook lists the lab's 11 experiments and checks each one off.
Labs with 11 experiments each
Kitchen Lab, Garden Lab, Weather Station, Magnets and Electricity, Light and Sound, Rocks and Fossils, Ocean Lab, Body Lab, Animals and Habitats, Space Observatory and Invention Workshop. Every finished experiment adds something you can see to the lab.
Kitchen Lab is free
The whole Kitchen Lab, all 11 experiments, is free with every feature. Members get every lab.
Five steps in every experiment
1. Question
What are we testing? Students find the one thing we change and the result we measure.
2. Predict
Students make a best guess before the test. A prediction does not have to be right.
3. Test
An on-screen simulation: change one thing with buttons or a slider and watch what happens. The notebook records every test.
4. Observe
Read the results: tap the right row, picture or bar, and pick the sentence or graph that matches.
5. Explain
Pick the best explanation, with a link to the full lesson in the lesson library.
Science from the student's grade, help that fits
The topics of their grade
Experiments use the same science topics as our lesson library, kindergarten to grade 8. Each lab starts with the topic that fits it best; when every topic is done, experiments become review.
Three levels of help
Guided has picture choices, a hint at every step and one thing to change. On my own has word choices, number tables and hints on request. Challenge has close choices, two things to change, graphs, why questions and a bonus: design your own test.
A warm-up suggests the help
Three quick questions at the start of each session suggest a level. Students and parents can change it any time, and the game only offers a change, never switches on its own.
Tap, never type
Every answer is a tap, a drag or a slider: no typing and no fill-in-the-blank. Questions and explanations can be read aloud.
Stars, safety and reward points
Stars
Up to 3 stars per experiment, from answers right on the first try. Speed never counts.
Reward points for members
Members earn reward points for each experiment finished, a bonus for finishing a lab and another for 3 stars on every experiment. Rushing earns nothing.
Safe by design
Every experiment happens on screen. Optional try-at-home ideas use safe household things, always with an adult, and never heat, flames, chemicals, sharp tools or outlets.
Progress that follows the student
With a signed-in account, each student's labs and topics are saved to the account. Without one, they stay on this device.
