Why teach feeling words in the home language

Early-childhood researchers consider a feeling-word vocabulary of critical importance in a child's emotional development[1], and ASHA encourages families to keep using their heritage languages[2]. The National Center for Pyramid Model Innovations also publishes free English-Spanish feeling-face cards[3]; ours add Portuguese and a calm-down square.
