Chapter 1Takeoff

It is a bright morning at the airport. Sam, Aunt Mia and Tico the parrot are ready to fly around the world.

Aunt Mia holds up a new passport. "We will visit all seven continents and fill it with stamps."

Nora the pilot waves. "First, put your fingers on the home row," she says. "That is where they live, like a plane at its home airport."

The plane flies past the Statue of Liberty, a gift from France.

In Canada, Sam gets the first stamp: a red maple leaf, just like the one on the flag.

Chapter 2Stone Cities

The plane flies south to Mexico. At Chichén Itzá, a tall stone pyramid rises over the trees.

Sam looks up the steep steps. "Reach up to the top row," says Nora, "then come back home."

In Peru, a train climbs into the Andes, and they visit Machu Picchu, an old Inca city.

Tico says hello to a llama. The llama just keeps chewing.
